Dead Men Talking

Pseudoarthrosis means “false joint.”  It occurs when a fractured bone fails to heal properly, creating movable parts where there shouldn’t be.

Some examples from Amarna, Egypt, c. 1350 BCE, taken during my field season in 2010.  These workers built the city for the pharaoh Akhenaten.
